Soft black velvet with a gentle sheen shapes the fitted bodice and the long sleeves, and this velvet, the main fabric, is 100% polyester. Below the high waist seam, sheer black tulle scattered with flocked stars in mixed sizes, with tiny dots in between, is gathered over a black lining with a soft sheen; the stars are matte and slightly velvety rather than shiny, so they show softly against solid black. The tulle falls a little longer than the lining for a soft, sheer edge at the hem, and the long velvet sleeves make it an easy pick for fall and winter showers and chilly-weather celebrations.

How long is this dress?

It is a maxi: in our photos the gathered A-line skirt ends at the ankle, and the tulle falls a little past the lining for a soft, sheer edge. Worn off the shoulder with flat shoes, the tulle can reach the floor, depending on your height. The front, side and back views show the full length. What are the neckline, sleeves and back like?

The wide velvet neckline sits off both shoulders and dips into a soft V at the center front, where the velvet is lightly gathered. The long sleeves are fitted velvet all the way to the wrist with plain cuffs, and the back of the bodice is one smooth piece of velvet; no zipper, buttons or ties are visible, so it is a pull-on style. Returns are accepted within 30 days of delivery, as long as the dress is unworn, unwashed and unaltered, with its original tags and packaging. Trying it on at home is fine. Just message us first so we can approve your return.

For a different size, send the original back and we’ll ship the new size free of charge (subject to stock).
