Above the sash, the bodice is a solid, matte golden yellow, warmer and deeper than a lemon yellow without tipping into orange, with a fine, even surface and no print. Below it, the skirt and the sash share a matte printed fabric that falls in soft folds, covered edge to edge in tiny five-petal flowers running from golden yellow to apricot orange, each with a small orange-brown center, and little steel-blue leaves tucked between them on a white ground. The flowers sit close together with only a little white showing, so from a few steps away the skirt reads as a warm golden floral flecked with blue rather than a white skirt with scattered flowers. From the seam just under the bust, the skirt is gathered all the way around and opens into an A-line that falls away from the bump rather than clinging to it. The main fabric is 95% polyester and 5% spandex.

How long is this dress?

It is a knee-length dress: in our photos the hem lands around the knee, and there is no slit. From the sash just under the bust, the skirt is gathered all the way around and opens into an A-line rather than a full, puffy skirt, as the front, side and chest-down views show. What are the neckline, sleeves and back like?

A round neckline sits just above the collarbone, finished with a narrow binding and a line of topstitching. The sleeves are flutter ruffles: a wavy ruffle with a narrow rolled edge runs from the front of each armhole over the shoulder to the back, covering the shoulder and the very top of the arm, and below the underarm the arm is bare, as on a sleeveless dress. At the back the neckline is round too, the bodice is smooth and plain, and the sash wraps around the high waist. How do the nursing zips work?

Two hidden zips sit inside the vertical seams on the front of the bodice, one on each side, for nursing after baby arrives. Each has a tiny matching pull at the top of its seam, near the armhole, and unzips downward into a vertical opening over the bust; closed, only the two seams and the small pulls show. You can see the seams and pulls in the front close-ups in the photos, and how the dress fits once baby is here depends on your measurements at that time.
